🚨 The $2,000 Lesson

—

1–2 minutes

A client came to me with a problem: their Amazon account had been suspended for over a year.
Why? They were sourcing products from Home Depot, shipping them to FBA, and using retail receipts as proof.
Amazon didn’t bite.
Receipts aren’t invoices. The account was shut down. Nearly $2,000 in funds locked away. Every appeal got the same rejection: “unacceptable sourcing.”
When I stepped in, we reframed the case:
Identified the real root cause (retail sourcing).
Built a corrective plan (stop arbitrage, remove non-compliant stock).
Added preventive measures (authorized distributors, compliance checks, record keeping).
The turning point wasn’t just writing a neat appeal — it was showing Amazon a system that prevents the same mistake again. That’s how you rebuild trust.
👉 Lesson for sellers: Amazon cares less about the past mistake and more about your plan not to repeat it.
